Impact on APAC Region

“Travel demand in the APAC region saw a gradual decline in especially “Destination + Hotels” related search queries for various APAC destinations.”

Search queries for “Destination + Flights” still showed a significantly lower rate of decline compared to the same for Hotels for APAC.

Top Hotel Brand Searches worldwide shows a huge decline over last 90 days and further drop in last 30 days

Travel search shows a drop after mid March. The peak in mid March was due to Travel bans and restrictions

A similar trend was seen in queries related to the major OTA brands.

Sri Lanka Related Searches Show a negative trend starting from Feb 2020

A downward trend for searches related to hotels and top local brands in Sri Lanka was seen from audiences worldwide.
